Tithes & Offering

SCC Members are encouraged to give to the work of the church and this we do in the form of a collection during our meetings. We call this an ‘offering’, because no-one is obliged to give anything, unless they want to do so willing and cheerfully. The money we collect is used for the running of the church and also to support the work we do in the community.

Many people who are part of our Church give regularly to the work of the church – some give 10% of their income every month (this is known as the ‘tithe’). By signing a Gift Aid form, income tax payers allow us to reclaim the tax they’ve paid, further increasing their giving. Our church Treasurer (Shirley Lamoon) will be able to help you should you require further information on this or any other financial related matter.
Gift Aid

If you are a UK Tax Payer, for every £1 you give, we can get an extra 25p from the Inland Revenue, helping your donation go further. For example, this means that £100 can be turned into £125 just so long as donations are made through Gift Aid.

No extra cost to you — yet your giving increases significantly

No minimum amount — tax is reclaimable on all Gift Aided donations

No minimum period of commitment — one declaration can last indefinitely, yet can be cancelled immediately should your circumstances change

We can arrange to forward a gift aid form to you, please contact the treasurer on 07746 760527
